Dear Unity Friends,

     As congregants of Unity Spiritual Center, we know the transitions our church family has endured in the past, especially the last four years.  We are optimistically gearing up for another transition with the hire of a new minister. 

     Rev. Kathy McCall spoke and gave a workshop on September 28, 2008.  After the Sunday Service and workshop those attending were given the opportunity to fill out evaluations.  On the strength of those evaluations followed by prayerful thought and discussion, the Board offered Rev. Kathy the opportunity to become our next Minister.  Rev. McCall accepted our offer and will be beginning her Ministry at Unity Spiritual Center on November 16.  We are fortunate to have an experienced, highly recommended minister agree to share her skills with our congregation.   

     Rev. Kathy was ordained in 1990 and brings with her eight year’s experience at Unity Temple of Santa Cruz, a year at Unity Palo Alto, and eight years at Unity of the Southwest in Tempe, Arizona.  She has also founded her own Alternative Unity Ministry, Sacred Journeys, which she describes as a “church without walls.”  Rev. Kathy is single, with two grown sons, one living in Santa Rosa, and one in Fargo, North Dakota.  She has one grandchild.

     She describes herself as “an eclectic person who loves to synthesize and teach Truth from many sources.  I am said to be a gifted, inspired teacher with the ability to invoke mystical depth through storytelling, myth, scripture, and ancient traditions.  Creativity is one of my strong suits.  I find great joy in helping others access and express the sacred treasures buried within.  Amidst this important spiritual work, I believe a sense of humor is essential.”

     Transition is a tremendous opportunity for God to manifest something new and truly magnificent.  We know that all is in divine order.  We know that what Rev. Kathy brings is a blessing for Unity Spiritual Center.  We know that Rev. Kathy will help us achieve what God intends for our church.  Wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are always welcome here!
